The NVR in this kit is a 4 channel affair which can record all the channels simultaneously at up to 1080p. It can also do motion detection on all the channels and send email alerts. One thing I really like about Amcrest is that they do not try to lock down their products and trap you in their ecosystem. I have 4 cameras and the QNAP Surveillance Station takes care of my needs nicely with redundant storage and an OpenVPN server all for under $500.
